For decades companies have relied on contingent workers to help them meet their short-term project and production needs. Increasingly though, companies are making contingent workers part of their long-term workforce strategy because of the increased flexibility and decreased liability that accompanies a contingent workforce.

Impact Workforce Solutions was founded to meet the needs of a growing contingent workforce while also better serving the client companies who employ them through its Core2 program. However, as Impact has grown so have its services. In addition to its Core2 contingent workforce strategy, Impact also provides clients with the following services:

The Challenge

The challenge in a long-term contingent workforce is the lives of the workers themselves. Most long-term contingent workers:

  • Don’t have access to employer benefits
  • Receive minimal compensation
  • Lack access to training and development opportunities
  • Have a difficult time qualifying for personal financing, such as car and home loans
  • Are continually looking for better employment opportunities because of their temporary status

Because long-term contingent assignments rarely offer the stability and growth opportunities that most workers seek, employers of long-term contingent workers must deal with several challenges related to their contingent workforce, including:

  • High turnover
  • Low morale and job satisfaction
  • Increased training costs

The Solution

It’s for these reasons that Impact Workforce Solutions was established in 2002.

Impact targets the business sense and the people side of a company’s workforce strategy through its Core2 approach. With Core2, long-term contingent workers remain working at the client location, but rather than continuing on as long-term temporaries, the workers become employees of Impact – gaining stability, benefits, and competitive pay, as well as training and growth opportunities.

The client, on the other hand, benefits from a more loyal, dedicated contingent workforce. And, Impact doesn’t replace the client’s sourcing network of temporary staffing providers. Instead, it works with the staffing firms to help them better serve the client.
